On Sunday, September 29, 2019, the US Coast Guard was dispatched in reference to a boat taking on water near the Sunshine Skyway Bridge.
The vessel and its five occupants, while taking in water, started to make it’s way towards the Simmons boat ramp.
A vessel from the US Coast Guard Station St. Petersburg intercepted them. Crews members jumped on board while both boats were moving. This allowed for the crew to activate their pump to begin the removal of water from the bilge.
The USCG escorted them to a boat ramp while continuing to pump water from the vessel.
All occupants, along the vessel. were safely removed from the water.
