Vehicle crushed after collision with a tree in Largo

Units from Largo Fire Rescue were dispatched to a vehicle crash today at approximately 3:41pm.  The crash was located just to the north of West Bay Drive on Clearwater Largo Road.  Upon arrival, units encountered a vehicle with heavy damage that was crushed between a large hauling truck and a tree located in the center median.  Largo Fire Rescue personnel utilized extrication equipment in order to remove those injured from the damaged vehicle.

All traffic southbound on Clearwater-Largo Road was directed around the crash scene.  Sunstar Ambulance along with the Largo Police Department and their volunteer unit assisted at the scene.

It appears that two occupants of the vehicle were transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  Largo Police Department will continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
