Woman charged with DUI manslaughter after fatal crash in St. Petersburg

Officers from the St. Petersburg Police Department continue to investigate a DUI fatality crash that occurred on Monday, January 16, 2023 at 7:30 p.m.

Investigators say a silver BMW 750IL, driven by 37 year-old Ieasha Boyd of St. Petersburg with a 12 year old child and a 5 year old child in the car, was westbound in the curb lane of 38th Avenue North, approaching the intersection with 40th Street North.

Boyd struck an orange Chevrolet Colorado pick-up truck that was northbound on 40th Street North and caused it to roll over.

The pick-up truck driver, 62 year-old Miguel Diaz Arzola of St. Petersburg was pronounced dead on the scene by St. Pete Fire Rescue after having to be extricated from his vehicle.

Both children were transported to All Children’s Hospital to be evaluated for minor injuries.

Boyd was found to be driving while impaired. Boyd was charged with DUI Manslaughter, and two counts of Child Neglect. She was transported to the Pinellas County Jail.
