Woman on electric bicycle with life-threatening injuries in Seminole crash

A bicyclist, 67-year-old Linda Garrison, was injured in a crash that occurred at the intersection of Park Boulevard and Seminole Boulevard at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday April 20, 2022.

Due to the severity of her injuries, deputies assigned to the Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) responded to the scene.

According to investigators, Garrison was traveling northbound on Seminole Boulevard, crossing Park Boulevard, on her electric bicycle in the area of the bicycle lane. A 2015 Chevrolet Traverse, driven by an 83-year-old male, was traveling westbound on Park Boulevard in the median lane. Investigators say the driver of the vehicle had a green light to proceed westbound and he entered the intersection. The vehicle collided with Garrison, striking her on her right side. She was transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg with life threatening injuries.

According to investigators, speed and impairment do not appear to be factors in this crash.

The intersection reopened at approximately 5:30 p.m.

The investigation continues.
