12-Year-Old Killed in Electric Skateboard Crash in Wesley Chapel Neighborhood

A 12-year-old boy was killed Tuesday afternoon after being struck by a pickup truck in a Wesley Chapel neighborhood.

According to investigators, at approximately 4:52 p.m., a Ford F-250 driven by a 45-year-old Wesley Chapel man was traveling northbound on Windstar Circle within the Crosswinds Subdivision. As the truck turned west onto Moonrise Way, the driver entered the path of a child riding a V6Pro electric skateboard eastbound.

The skateboard rider was struck during the turn.

The child was transported to an area hospital, where he later died from injuries sustained in the crash.
