At approximately 1:22 AM on Sunday, June 14, 2015, phone calls were received by the 911 center reporting a motorcycle crash at the Bay Pines Triangle with two riders down in the roadway.

Multiple units from City of Seminole Fire Rescue Department, Sunstar Paramedics and Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office arrived on scene and located the injured operator and passenger along with their 2012 Harley Davidson Motorcycle.

According to Cecilia Barreda, Public Information Officer for the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO), investigators say 48 year-old Staz Guntek of St. Petersburg was operating the motorcycle with his wife, 51 year-old Denise Guntek. The two were southbound on Seminole Boulevard approaching the Bay Pines Triangle when he attempted to overtake a vehicle on the right and drove off the roadway and onto the grassy shoulder. Deputies say Mr. Guntek lost control of the motorcycle and it began to slide on its side. Both the husband and wife were ejected. They were transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg by ambulance for what PCSO is calling treatment of non-life threatening injuries,

Investigators believe that both speed and alcohol appear to be factors in the crash according to the press release.

Both were wearing helmets.
