Safety Harbor Man With Life-Threatening Injuries After Driving his Motorcycle into a Parked Car Overnight

Robert M. Dobraski, age 54 of Safety Harbor, was flown to St. Joseph’s Hospital overnight after he crashed his motorcycle in Safety Harbor, Florida.

The crash occurred at about 2:50 a.m. on Saturday, July 7, 2018 on the roadway in front of 1078 3rd Street North in Safety Harbor.

According to investigators from the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, Dobraski was driving his 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle eastbound on 3rd Street North when he struck a legally parked vehicle in front of 1078 3rd Street North.

Investigators say Dobraski was flown to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa for life-threatening injuries. Dobraski was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Through the course of the investigation, investigators learned that officers from the Clearwater Police Department were already trying to locate Dobraski. Officers told investigators that Dobraski crashed his motorcycle in Clearwater earlier the same morning.

Witnesses told officers that Dobraski was driving his motorcycle on Sunset Point Road when he struck the median and crashed near Lawson Road in Clearwater. Dobraski got back on his motorcycle and drove off towards Safety Harbor.

Investigators say speed and impairment appear to be factors in the crash.

The investigation continues.
