Subjects in Stolen Vehicle in Custody After Woman Killed in St. Petersburg Crash
At 2:40 p.m. on Saturday, November 24, 2018, police responded to a crash at 18th Ave S. and 25th Street S.
This incident all began after an officer was flagged down about a carload of men in a Hyundai pointing a gun at someone.
The car was later spotted going at a high rate of speed on 18th Avenue South and police say there was no police pursuit.
The stolen Hyundai Sonata struck a blue PT cruiser at the intersection of 18th Avenue S and 25th Street.
A passenger in the PT Cruiser, 46 year-old Yalanda Speights, was critically injured and taken to the hospital. The driver and passenger’s mother, 61 year-old Mae Speights, was also taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Police now have all four men who were in the stolen Hyundai in custody and charges are pending:

St. Petersburg Police reported at Yalanda Speights died at noon in December 1, 2018 from the injuries she received in the
crash.
