Driver seriously injured in rollover crash in Clearwater

Clearwater Police and Clearwater Fire & Rescue responded to a single-vehicle crash at 11:18 p.m. in the 1500 block of South Fort Harrison Avenue.

A pickup left the roadway and overturned, trapping the male driver inside.

Firefighters extricated the victim and he was flown to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg as a trauma alert. As of Sunday morning, St. Petersburg Police report that the driver remains in critical condition.

The road was closed until Duke Energy workers made repairs to downed power lines. The roadway fully re-opened at approximately 7 a.m.

Motorists should avoid the area on Ft. Harrison between Belleair and Woodlawn.
