Bicyclist Lands on Car After Ulmerton Road Collision

Units from Largo Fire Rescue and Largo Police Department responded to a traffic incident this evening just before 8 PM.
The call for service was near the intersection of Ulmerton Road and Belcher Road. Arriving crews located the incident in the westbound lanes just to the west of Belcher Road. Â The bicyclist was lying atop the vehicle which had a shattered windshield. Â The occupants of the VW sedan did not appear injured in the collision. He was conscious as crews worked to immobilize him while on the roof of the vehicle. Â The bicyclist was transported to the hospital via Sunstar Ambulance. His condition is unknown but the injuries did not appear life-threatening.
All westbound lanes of Ulmerton Road were closed for about 30 minutes while Largo Police Department investigated the crash. Â The investigation continues.
