Motorcycle crashAnother Motorcyclist Loses His Life on Belcher Road and 118th Avenue in Pinellas Park

On 04-09-14 at approximately 8:19 p.m. officers from the Pinellas Park Police Department responded to a serious bodily injury traffic crash at 118th Avenue N and Belcher Road. Upon arrival, they discovered the crash was between a motorcycle and a commercial truck towing a large white commercial trailer.
Based on the Department’s preliminary investigation, they have determined the following;
A 1997 Kawasaki motorcycle was southbound on Belcher Road approaching 118th Avenue.  The operator has been identified as 29 year old Dwight Jess Harvey Jr. of St. Petersburg.

A commercial lawn truck, towing a large white commercial trailer, was travelling northbound on Belcher Rd. approaching 118th Avenue.
According to witnesses, the light for north and south bound traffic had turned red just after the truck committed to a westbound turn on 118th Avenue. The motorcycle is reported to have ran the red light resulting in the crash. The operator of the motorcycle sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
As of 11:15pm Belcher Road is still losed in all directions so officers can complete their investigation.

This is the same spot of another fatal motorcycle crash on February 20th under very similar circumstances.
