Clearwater Police investigate after thieves yank open ATM with a chain connected to a truck

Clearwater Police detectives are asking for the public’s help to identify suspects who yanked open an ATM with a chain attached to a truck early this morning.

The incident occurred shortly after 5 a.m. on Monday, July 19, 2021, outside Cadence Bank at 2440 Sunset Point Road. That’s when three suspects were involved in attaching a chain to a stolen pickup and then yanking the cash drawers from the ATM. They then abandoned the truck and left the scene in an unknown getaway vehicle.

One of the suspects wore a hooded sweatshirt with “Billionaire Boys Club”
written on it.
