Homicide Investigation in Dunedin; Suspect in Custody

Detectives responded to a private residence at 1658 Summit Way at about 5:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2014 to conduct a welfare check after being contacted by the Clearwater Police Department.
Clearwater Police Officers received concerning information from the suspect during a routine traffic stop in the Clearwater Beach area overnight. During the welfare check, Pinellas County Deputies found the body of the victim inside the home, deceased with blunt upper body trauma.Â
Detectives have identified the victim as 50-year-old David G. Elsey. Elsey is said to have met the suspect online recently.
The suspect is currently in custody and has been identified as 26-year-old Arthur Michael DeCarvalho who has been charged with Murder in the First Degree. He has been transported to the Pinellas County Jail without further incident.
