Pinellas County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a condominium located within the Eastlake Woodlands Country Club at approximately 10:14 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4, 2019.  The condominium is located in the 100 block of Pine Court in Oldsmar.

Deputies were informed that the 52-year-old female’s family called 911, after they had not been able to get in touch with her, and requested law enforcement to attempt contact. The family advised they were concerned for the female due to there being a history of domestic violence between the victim and her paramour.

When deputies arrived at the residence, no one answered the door and deputies made a forced entry into the condominium to check on the female.

According to detectives, 51-year-old Benjamin First and the 52-year-old female victim were found deceased inside the home from gunshot wounds. Detectives have determined it to be a murder-suicide.

Next of kin has been notified.

The 52-year-old female victim will not be identified, according to the Sheriff’s Office, due to next of kin invoking her Amendment 6 rights.

Benjamin First was an oral surgeon with an office in New Port Richey, Florida.

This continues to be an open and on-going investigation.
