Man Covered in Blood and Suspected of Murdering His Wife in Jacksonville Arrested in Pasco County

A Pasco deputy was exiting the Race Trac at 4:10 a.m. on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 27140 State Road 56 in Wesley Chapel.

As he was returning to his vehicle in the parking lot, he was approached by a male who had what appeared to be blood all over the front of his clothes.

The subject was identified as 29 year-old Marco Stephens.

Police say that Stephens made incriminating statements about a crime in Jacksonville and also stated that he was going to kill himself, but decided to turn himself in instead.

He reportedly shot and killed his estranged wife in the parking lot of an apartment complex shortly after midnight. He then traveled to Pasco County in her vehicle and stopped at the gas station where he approached the deputy.

Stephens was detained and contact was made with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

Detectives from Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office traveled to Pasco County and arrested Stephens for the murder of his wife.
