Man killed in crash on stolen motorcycle at Gulf to Bay Boulevard and Keene Road

Investigators from the Clearwater Police Department continue to investigate a crash that killed a motorcyclist. The crash occurred at approximately 9:10 p.m. on Monday, October 5, 2020 at the intersection of Gulf to Bay Boulevard and Keene Road.

Clearwater Police and Clearwater Fire & Rescue responded to the crash which involved a motorcycle and car in the intersection.

Firefighters arriving on scene worked to extinguish the fire since the motorcycle burst into flames following the crash.

Paramedics worked to treat the adult motorcyclist with life saving procedures.

The motorcyclist, identified as a 41 year-old Joshua R. Dumas of Largo, was transported to Morton Plant Hospital where he died from his injuries.

The driver of the vehicle refused medical care and remained on-scene.

Clearwater Police say that the motorcycle previously had been reported stolen out of St. Petersburg.

The intersection was shut down as the investigation was conducted and drivers were asked to avoid the area for several hours.
