Detectives assigned to the Crimes Against Children Unit have arrested an Oldsmar man after he video recorded himself performing sex acts on his Siberian Husky dog.
According to detectives, their investigation began on January 25, 2019, after a citizen residing in another state contacted Pinellas County Animal Services regarding video and photographs on the internet of a man having sexual contact with a dog. Pinellas County Animal Services notified the Sheriff’s Office.
Detectives obtained copies of the video and the photographs. The video depicts
images of a man dressed in a black and white Husky dog costume. The costumed
man is seen in the video using his penis and multiple penis shaped sex toys to
have inappropriate sexual contact with a Siberian Husky dog.
Detectives say the dog in the video was clearly in distress. At one point
during the video, the dog tries to run away and the man responds by striking
the dog with a sex toy.
Through various investigative techniques, detectives tracked the video and photographs back to 21-year-old Christian Stewart Oscar Nichols. The incident occurred at his residence in the 300 block of Fairwood Court in Oldsmar.
On Monday, February 11, 2019, detectives made contact with Nichols at his residence. Nichols admitted to detectives he made the video with his Siberian Husky, named Ember, and shared it on the internet.
Detectives arrested Nichols about 1:28 p.m. on February 11, 2019 He is charged with one count of Aggravated Animal Cruelty. Nichols was transported to the Pinellas County Jail without incident.
Pinellas County Animal Services responded to the home and removed Ember and a second dog from Nichols’ residence.
As a result of the ongoing investigation, detectives have charged him with 10 additional criminal charges for Prohibition of Certain Acts in Connection with Obscene Materials.
The new charges are a result of numerous videos found by detectives inside Nichols’ bedroom.
Detectives say the videos depict unidentified persons having inappropriate sexual activity with dogs.
The investigation continues.
