Pinellas Deputies Arrest Man Driving Stolen Car Stopped at Red Light
UPDATED: October 27, 2015
The State Attorney’s Office has filed “No Information” in the case against Gregory Monroe. Charges has been dropped against Mr. Monroe.
I had the opportunity today to speak with Mr. Monroe via telephone. Pinellas County Deputies pulled over the vehicle the Mr. Monroe was driving based upon a report of a vehicle reported stolen two days prior out of Kenneth City.

The report of the stolen 2003 Buick was made by a Christina Dewitt. It appears that a male acquaintance of Ms. Dewitt took her vehicle and delivered it to a repair facility. It is unclear if there was a miscommunication between the two people or some more nefarious reason for her report.
As he stated to Pinellas Deputies upon this arrest, Mr. Monroe was assisting at his brother’s mechanic shop and was test driving the vehicle after repairs were completed.
He spent over 29 hours in the Pinellas County Jail before being released on bail.

At about 5:30 PM deputies approached the reportedly stolen 2003 Buick Regal which was stopped at the red light in the northbound lanes of Starkey Road.
