Two Arrested After Fleeing From Stolen Vehicle Saturday Night in Gulfport

Two men from St. Petersburg were arrested after fleeing from a stolen vehicle late Saturday night in Gulfport.

Deputies from the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle at approximately 11:57 PM on Saturday, February 25, 2017.

The arrest affidavit reports that the stolen vehicle, a black 2015 Honda Civic, was seen throughout southern Pinellas County.  The driver of the vehicle, 18 year-old Robert Graham, reportedly fled the traffic stop and was being tracked by helicopter.  Deputies successfully deployed stop sticks, deflating a tire, but Graham continue to drive on the rim of the vehicle.

Graham along with his passenger, 18 year-old Marquis Mattison, fled on foot from the vehicle in the area of 57th St S and 17th Ave S.  They were eventually tracked by K-9 and taken into custody.

Graham reportedly was seen burglarizing a vehicle in the 8200 block of 129th Lane N in Seminole at about 11:29 PM.

Graham is facing charges of Grand Theft Auto, Resisting Arrest, Driving Without a License, Fleeing and Eluding, and Burglary.

Mattison is facing charges of Grand Theft Auto, Resisting Arrest, and Unlicensed Carrying of a Concealed Firearm.

It is reported that Mattison was armed a gun, a 9mm Glock, that was found under his body after being apprehended by K9.  According to the report, Mattison took the firearm from the center console of the stolen vehicle.
