Hillsborough Deputies Find Wanted Man Chilling in AC Duct Work

Posted: April 14, 2017 – 2 p.m.

On April 13, 2017 at approximately 6:15 pm, Hillsborough County Deputies responded to 4004 W. Hamilton Ave. to locate 47 year-old Larry G. Puleo who had warrants for Violation of Probation (Introduction of Contraband into Detention Facility) and Violation of Probation (Possession of Heroin).

Deputies report that upon arrival, they could hear someone scurrying around in the attic. K9 Deputy Ferreira and his K9 “Joker” made numerous announcements requesting Puleo to surrender.

After approximately one hour and no response from Puleo, deputies searched the attic but could not locate him.

Deputies began checking for any potential escape routes and discovered the only other possible way out was through the air conditioning duct in a bedroom closet leading into the attic.

Deputies cut a hole in the duct and discovered Puleo hiding inside. Puleo was stuck and began pleading for deputies to get him out because he was freezing.

Deputies cut a hole large enough for Puleo to physically remove himself from the duct. Hillsborough County Fire Rescue transported Puleo to St. Joseph’s Hospital where he was treated and released for hypothermia.

Puleo was transported and booked into Orient Road Jail where he is being held without bond.
