POfficers in District I and the Tampa Fire Department were in the process of rescuing a man who is trapped inside of a garbage truck in the 6 AM hour.
While making rounds the waste management driver realized a man was calling for help.
Sometime during his morning route, the man who was sleeping in a dumpster, was deposited into the garbage truck along with the contents of the dumpster.
A very actice scene was ongoing at Hillsborough Ave and Dale Mabry involving heavy equipment assisting in the rescue.
Shortly before 7AM the man was removed from the truck and transported to a local hospital. No information is currently available on his condition.
