Seminole man arrested for possession and transmission of child pornography

Detectives from the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office have arrested 27 year-old Blake Schomp of Seminole for possession and transmission of child pornography.

Detectives began their investigation after receiving information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) that child pornography was being uploaded via the social media/messenger application, Kik.

Through various investigative techniques, detectives were able to identify the suspect as 27-year-old Blake Schomp.

Detectives obtained a search warrant for Schomp’s residence, located at 9600 block of 121st Street North in Seminole. Several images of child pornography were located on Schomp’s cell phone and laptop.

On June 22, 2022, detectives arrested Schomp and charged him with ten counts of Possession of Child Pornography and ten counts of Transmission of Child Pornography.

According to arrest documentation these videos showed sexual acts involving children as young as 4 to 6 years of age.

Schomp was transported to the Pinellas County Jail.

The investigation continues.
