This is the third crash involving a Pinellas Deputy since November 15, 2014.

Deputies from the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office assigned to the Major Accident Investigation Team are investigating a crash involving a deputy.  The crash occurred on Drew Street and North Glenwood Avenue in Clearwater at approximately 10:04 PM on November 19, 2014.

Deputy Crystal Trentmann was travelling west bound on Drew Street in the right curb lane in a marked 2005 Chevy Impala. Tyson Boles of Clearwater was travelling west bound on Drew Street in the left lane driving a 2001 Ford Explorer. Deputy Trentmann slowed and began to make a U-turn intending to stop an eastbound vehicle for a traffic violation; she did not see the Explorer in the left lane. The Explorer struck the rear driver’s side of the patrol vehicle.

Deputy Trentmann was transported to Morton Plant for non-life threatening injuries. Tyson was not injured in the crash.

Alcohol and drugs are not a factor of the crash.

The investigation continues.
